Oasis Charter Elementary School

Welcome to First Grade at Oasis Charter Elementary School.

Our curriculum offers a well rounded education by giving students the opportunity to explore science, social studies and the arts as well as maintaining focus on the basics (reading, writing and math). By using differentiated instruction we are able to meet the needs of all learners. We strive to help all students become successful.

Some topics we study in first grade include; Ancient Egypt, early exploration, exploring the west, Mesopotamia, astronomy, inside the earth, electricity, modern day Mexico.

We are dedicated to providing your child with a learning environment that enhances their education. We will be using a variety of methods to explore our curriculum. Some things your child will be using are the Smart board, document camera, math manipulatives, and computers. Your child will also be creating a variety of projects throughout the year to bring their learning to life.

Deanna Brock		I graduated from Barry University with a BS in Elementary Education with an ESOL endorsement. I have been teaching at Oasis Charter School for five years. Classroom Webpage

Theresa Gleeson		Hi Everyone! I am really excited to be apart of the Oasis family! I grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and started my college education at Penn State University! I moved to Cape Coral about 3 years ago and I LOVE Florida! No more cold Winters! I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2008, with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and I also have my ESOL Endorsement. I taught 5^th grade in Lee County School District last year, now I am teaching First grade at the best school in Cape Coral! I absolutely love teaching the primary grades and am extremely happy to be teaching 1^st grade this year, not to mention our team rocks! Go 1^st grade! Everyone at Oasis is kind and caring and I am privileged to work with an outstanding team of professionals. I have an amazing 5 year old daughter, Kailey, who attends Oasis Elementary and is in Kindergarten. I also have a dog named Riley, who is 4 months old, and an outstanding family that I love dearly! I look forward to being apart of the Oasis family for many years to come!

Natalie Graham		I am so excited to be here at Oasis! This is such a warm and inviting place to be!! I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and they were the only streets I really ever knew! I was a bit nervous to move away, but I did it! I moved to Cape Coral with my husband, Keith and our dog, Cinder almost 5 years ago and have been loving it here ever since! Almost 3 years ago we had our little darling, Addison. I graduated from California University of Pennsylvania and have been working with children for the last 13 years. I just love teaching 1st grade here at Oasis and being part of such an amazing team!

Sarah Gregory		Hello Everyone! I am very excited to be teaching 1st grade at Oasis this year! I recently graduated from the University of New England with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. UNE is all the way in Biddeford, Maine, which is a lot different from sunny Florida! I grew up in Oakdale, Connecticut and I love New England especially the Boston Red Sox. When I graduated I wanted to be close to my family who moved down here while I was in school, so here I am! I love reading and going to the beach, and most of all teaching! I can't wait to get this year started!
Crystal Henriques		My name is Crystal Henriques and I teach first grade at Oasis. This is my second year at Oasis and I love teaching here! I grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Cape Coral with my family in 1995, when I was in middle school. I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor’s in Education with an ESOL endorsement. I am currently attending FGCU and will receive a Master's of Education in Reading in 2011.


Linda MacCallum		My name is Linda MacCallum. I grew up in the sweetest place on Earth…Hershey, PA and graduated from The Pennsylvania State University…GO LIONS! My husband and I have 3 wonderful boys (currently 12, 14, and 16) that keep us on the go constantly and a dog named Sara. I have taught in the Lee County School District for six years, The Wilson School District (PA) for four years, and this will be my third year teaching at Oasis Elementary. I am a Florida Certified Teacher and I also hold an ESOL Endorsement and Mentor Teacher Certification.
