Meet the teachers
Welcome to
Fourth Grade at Oasis Elementary!
Fourth grade
is an exciting time for our students! Our Core Knowledge curriculum takes them
on literature journeys through the readings of Gulliver’s Travels, Treasure
Island, Robin Hood, and Robinson Crusoe, to name a few. Various stories, myths
and poetry lend themselves to our History and Geography content.
Major areas
of study for students will be World Geography, Europe in the Middle Ages,
Ancient China, The American Revolution and The Constitution. “Curriculum Days”
will bring these particular subject topics to life through student projects and
activities. Field trips are also geared toward enriching specific curriculum
content.
Science
content will include the study of The Human Body, Chemistry, Electricity,
Geology and Meteorology!
Our fourth
graders will be taking the State-wide Florida Writes exam this spring. As such,
our writing curriculum will be focused on perfecting their narrative and
expository essay skills, while ensuring they pay close attention to proper
grammar and use of mature language.
Each fall,
fourth grade hosts our annual Oasis Thanksgiving Day Parade for our school and
community. Afterwards, the fourth grade classes partake in flag football games
and tailgating. This is certainly a day you won’t want to miss!
All in all,
this is a year of great growth for our students. Partnering with their parents
and working together as a team, we envision a very memorable, exciting year for
your child.
