Meet our teacher
The focus of music class is on activities and experiences that illustrate important musical concepts and terms, and introduces important composers and works. The music curriculum at Oasis Elementary follows the Core Knowledge music curriculum as closely as possible.
The three main areas of focus in music are:
-Elements of Music
*This includes knowledge and understanding of musical terms and musical notation.
-Listening and Understanding
*Students are exposed to a wide range of music and introduced to important composers, works and musical time periods.
-Songs
*Students learn to sing, play and perform songs that are part of the children’s music and folk music traditions.
